Only 60 barrels made for the world!

Filed under: Red Wines, HomePort Favorites — adam @ 2:58 pm

They only made 60 barrels of this exquiste cabernet sauvignon wine, that’s about 1400 cases, or 16,800 bottles or 67,200 glasses of red wine OK, I know I am getting carried away but this is great wine. What I am saying, is this is one of those rare wines that when gone it’s  gone forever.

You don’t want to miss out on this one as you are in for a real treat. We loved this wine. If  we have any of this wine still left at HomePort when you read this, buy it right away. Yes it’s that good.

Here’s how winemakers, Matthew Rorick and Spencer Graham describe their special boutique wine.

Reddish-purple in color. Seductive aromas of cassis, cigar box, black plum and wet gravel. Voluptuous entry gives way to a richly textured mid-palate where dark fruit flavors intermingle with hints of spice box. Fine tannins build through to the finish of this classically structured wine.

One brilliant idea, one outstanding Pinot Grigio.

This is one of Homeport’s favorite Pinot Grigios, here’s why.

In 1961, the Santa Margherita oenologist had what proved to be a brilliant idea. He decided to try the white vinification technique used for the production of French Champagne on the best Pinot Grigio grapes from Trentino-Alto Adige. This led to the creation of an innovative white wine which, with its fresh aroma and silky taste, created a new fashion in white wine drinking. This wine has since continued to gain in popularity both in Italy and abroad, maintaining a clear leadership in the Pinot Grigio D.O.C. category.
